Notary Record Book for Electronic Notarizations
Do I have to record every electronic notarization in a notary record book?
Many states require its notaries public to record every notarial act performed in a notary record book. Contact your state’s commissioning authority to determine whether there are special instructions for maintaining a notary record book of all electronic notarial acts. If state notary laws do not require maintaining a notary record book of every notarial act performed, it is strongly recommended, and is considered “best practice,” that all notaries voluntarily keep a notary record book of all official notarial acts.
